The complex is home to Tempe Public Library, Tempe History Museum, Edna Vihel Arts Center and Pyle Recreation Center, making it a hub of activity in the center of the city. The master plan will make recommendations on connectivity, pedestrian experience, outdoor space improvements, use of space and accessibility. It will also evaluate a possible expansion of or new space for Human Services.

The final recommended master plan was presented at the May meeting. Public input has been and continues to be critical to the process as it helps shape the plan in a way that shapes the desires and values of the community. At this stage, the primary objective is to finalize this general scope of future improvements and propose a phased approach towards accomplishing the master plan vision. There will be additional public input opportunities as the plan is implemented in the years to come.

Separate from this project, campus wide landscape improvement plans will be finalized by winter with construction beginning spring 2022. They include a full irrigation system replacement, as well as the addition of new trees and shrubs across the campus, including screening trees along the south and west walls.
