A new, sustainable project to improve storm drains will begin construction summer 2024 in the neighborhoods south of Continental Drive and Roosevelt Street. The Roosevelt Storm Drain Project will increase drain capacity, improve water capture, upgrade flooding protection and consider sustainability by exploring the inclusion of green features to utilize stormwater runoff for right-of-way landscaping.

This is a joint project by the City of Tempe, the City of Scottsdale and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County.

Estimated date for completion: Dec. 31, 2025.
