Water Wise Landscape of the Year Award

The Water Wise Landscape of the Year Award honors Tempe residences and businesses that maintain water wise landscapes by demonstrating excellent horticultural maintenance and design standards, while highlighting the beauty of native and other desert plants. Any home, business or neighborhood in Tempe is eligible to win the award if they maintain a water-efficient landscape while following horticultural best practices for maintenance and the seven principles of xeriscaping. Please see directions below to submit a nomination.

Did your property receive a Water Wise Landscape Nomination Doorhanger?

If your property received a Water Wise Landscape Nomination door hanger, this indicates that Tempe Water Conservation Staff are encouraging you to self-nominate your landscape for the award. Participation is optional, and the property will only be considered if you submit a nomination form.

Two ways to submit a nomination:

1. Download the PDF nomination form and return back the completed form via email to conservation@tempe.gov no later than February 15, 2024* at 5:00 p.m.

2. Click to complete the online nomination form, then email associated photos or documents to conservation@tempe.gov as soon as possible, and no later than February 15, 2024* at 5:00 p.m.

Deadlines:

Water Wise Landscape Nominations for the 2024 Neighborhood Celebration are being accepted through February 15, 2024* at 5:00 p.m. Self-nominations are encouraged, and residents may also nominate a neighbor, business, community organization or neighborhood/homeowners associations. The award winner(s) will be selected by City of Tempe Water Conservation Staff to be recognized at the April 6, 2024 Neighborhood Celebration. Tempe offers an opportunity for businesses to gain recognition for their water conservation efforts.

To find out if your business is eligible to be a WET Certified Business, fill out this form and conservation staff will reach out to you with next steps.

To become a WET Certified Business:

1. Fill out the form above
2. Sing up for WaterSmart (if applicable)
3. Have a comprehensive water efficiency consultation to verify water saving fixtures and practices
