The City of Tempe offers a rebate of 50% of the purchase price for cooling tower upgrades, capped at $50,000 per project.

Qualifying Technology  

1. Remote read cooling tower controllers that integrate with property’s building management system or show proof of real-time usage alert capabilities that go to appropriate staff to act. 
2. Sub-meters and associated technology. 
3. Any technology proven to increase cycles of concentration. 
4. Unlisted/other cooling tower technology may qualify, but it must show proven water savings.

Technology must have a minimum life expectancy of five (5) years.

Rebate Application Checklist:

1. Read the Rebate Terms and Conditions.
2. Contact Water Conservation at 480-350-8351 or email conservation@tempe.gov to determine if your project is applicable for the rebate.
3. Purchase and install equipment, keep receipts for rebate application.
4. Complete the Rebate Form.
5. Schedule a consultation with conservation staff to confirm installation of equipment.
