Stormwater Best Management Practices
Stormwater runoff is one of the leading causes of water pollution in the United States. As stormwater flows over, roads, parking lots, lawns etc. it picks up dirt, trash, oil, grease, chemicals and other pollutants. The runoff is transported via streets and storm drains untreated directly into parks, retention basins, washes, canals and community lakes. Following the tips for residents and businesses outlined in the brochures below and the additional helpful links or getting involved will help reduce pollutants from entering the stormwater system and ultimately protect surface waters.
