Zero Waste Day helps Tempe and Guadalupe residents recycle items that cannot go into the blue recycling container, such as Styrofoam^TM, electronics, shredded paper and textiles.

City of Tempe and Town of Guadalupe residents, with proof of residency, can drop off automotive products, electronics and appliances, paints and solvents, pesticides and more at the Household Products Collection Center (HPCC). Visit the HPCC website to view a full list of items accepted, current hours and closures.

Stained glass, mirrors and construction materials in reusable condition could be accepted by Stardust Building Supplies.

Review the following options for recycling Styrofoam^TM packaging chunks/blocks and coolers.  Acceptable blocks/chucks are firm to the touch and not bendable; they should produce white pellets when torn. The following cannot be recycled: plates, cups, trays, peanuts or spongy foam.

Tempe and Guadalupe residents (with proof of residency) may take packaging chunks/blocks and coolers to the Household Products Collection Center (HPCC) for proper disposal. Visit the HPCC webpage for location, hours and closures.

An Earth Friendly Building Materials Styrofoam^TM container drop-off is available at 1305 East Butte Avenue, Florence, AZ 85132, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For further information, or to coordinate the delivery of large loads, call 602-541-0791. Please note that the Tempe location of Earth Friendly Building Materials stopped taking Styrofoam^TM on December 6, 2022. 

A Styrofoam^TM container is also located at Eco Building Systems, 8960 West Larkspur Drive, Suite 105, Peoria, AZ 85381, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For truckload deliveries, prior confirmation is required by calling 623-271-1173.
