TBEA’s focus on social justice, is to ensure that there is fairness in the organization’s HR policies and practices, as well equity in opportunities for recruiting and retention; training and advancement; coaching and corrective action.
While TBEA is not under any MOU with the City of Tempe, we recognize, support and uphold the 5 labor management groups working within the organization. Our goal is to partner with these groups as well as every department in the organization, to ensure fair and impartial treatment of all employees.
“The Tempe Black Employee Alliance will serve as a resource, advocate, and partner with the City Manager’s office and executive leadership, as we endeavor to recommend policies and practices that could construct more inclusive and equitable outcomes, and seek to be included in conversations with City of Tempe leadership when deciding policy and systemic changes.”
