Looking to volunteer, but don't have the time to make a permanent commitment? Listed below are one-day volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups with the City of Tempe.

All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application and register with the Volunteer Coordinator before participating.

Check back from time to time as activities may be added, reopen or close. You can also request to be placed on the wait list for "filled" activities.

Tempe Town Lake 25th Anniversary – 10 - 15 Volunteers Needed – FULL - Thank you!
Sunday, Nov. 3; 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Tempe Beach Park 
Volunteers will assist with set-up and tear-down, as well as run activities and games during the event, ensuring the community is enjoying the free family friendly celebration in the park. 
Wear comfy clothes and closed toed shoes. Event T-shirt will be provided.
Must be at least 15 years old.

ON-GOING VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES

Adaptive Recreation - Special Olympics Golf Partners – More Information
Golf  partner volunteers are needed (those without disabilities) to pair up with Special Olympics athletes for weekly course play. We ask all volunteers to commit to the whole season (Aug. 22 - Oct. 31). Requirements: 1-2 hours of online training, love of golf, and ability to participate for the whole season.  

CARE 7 – More Information
Volunteers will provide 24-hour on-scene emotional support services and follow-up to community members facing trauma. The team focuses on the needs of the family and or individual while public safety personnel attend to law enforcement, medical emergency, and fire suppression needs.

Docent, Tempe History Museum – More Information
Volunteers will become subject matter experts and learn Museum education principles that spark imagination in audiences of all ages.

Experience Corps – More Information
AARP Foundation Experience Corps is a community-based volunteer program that empowers people over 50 to serve as tutors to help students become better readers by the end of the third grade.

Bookstore Clerk, Friends of Tempe Public Library  – Email Your Interest
Friends of Tempe Public Library is a community-based non-profit organization that enhances the experience of the library through the Connections Café, learning classes and the library's bookstore.
