Admission 

Admission to the museum is free. Donations are accepted and help support the museum's mission and programs including a variety of presentations, festivals, tours, performances and events offered by the museum that are free and open to the public. Donations can be made using cash, card or check, in person or by phone, (480) 350-5100. 

Health and Safety - General

 
Museum staff is dedicated to promoting health and safety for all with:

  • Routine cleaning of common areas and high-touch surfaces.
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout all public spaces.
  • Plexiglass barriers at the front desk.

Here’s what to expect when visiting the museum: 

  •  If you are sick or generally not feeling well, please visit the museum on a day when you are feeling better.

  • Masks are optional for visitors and staff. Complementary masks are available for visitors who wish to wear one.
  • For the preservation and safety of museum artifacts, archival material and photographs, food and beverages are not allowed in the museum Exhibit Hall or in the Research Library. Water bottles and all other beverage containers can be left at the front desk during your visit. 
  • Health protocols are still recommended including handwashing or sanitizing if interacting with features in the space. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the museum.

Services and Amenities

  • Research requests and appointments for in-person research are being accepted at this time. Please email your request to museum@tempe.gov or call (480) 350-5100 to schedule an appointment.
  • The museum offers a limited number of lockers free-of-charge if you'd like to store your backpack or bag while visiting the museum. Please inquire about lockers at the front desk. 
  • The Museum Store is full of fun and unique finds.
    • The store accepts cash and all major credit/debit cards.
    • Hand sanitizer is available at the front desk, adjacent to the store.
    • A seating area is available near the store for your convenience.

  • For visitors with hearing aids, the museum's Community Room is equipped with a hearing loop.

  • The museum has a wheelchair available; please inquire at the front desk.
