Housing Diversity
The City of Tempe is committed to ensuring a balanced mix of affordable, workforce and market-rate housing options to meet diverse needs in the community.
Tempe is guided by our Affordable Housing Strategy to expand and preserve affordable and workforce housing. This work includes purchasing properties through a nonprofit housing affiliate and working with development and nonprofit partners to increase options.
Tempe Coalition for Affordable Housing
Established in 2018 by the City of Tempe Public Housing Authority, the nonprofit Tempe Coalition for Affordable Housing purchases properties in Tempe that will remain permanently restricted as affordable and workforce rental units. The nonprofit, known as The Affiliate, has nearly $10 million in assets under management. Learn more.
