About the center
The Family Advocacy Center is a warm and welcoming place, with a comfortable living room and teen room, a cozy quiet room, children’s play areas, yoga and art space and a kitchen stocked with drinks and snacks. The city’s comfort canine Sully offers his calming presence to anyone who wants it.
Anyone can receive services with or without police involvement. The center has entirely separate spaces for victim advocates and for Tempe and ASU police. Advocacy is offered throughout the criminal justice process.
Family Justice Commission
Tempe’s Family Justice Commission first began advocating for a Family Advocacy Center in 2017. The commission envisioned strong collaboration between the city, ASU and other community partners to provide the very best practices and services to victims.
