Beyond the Shop initiative
Tempe's Community Health and Human Services Department is pleased to announce its strategic partnership with The Confess Project of America, an innovative mental health initiative geared toward empowering local barbers and stylists to advocate for mental wellness.
Beyond the Shop, a program of The Confess Project, seeks to:
- Equip professionals with tools and knowledge to support minority men, women and families on their path to emotional and mental well-being
- Improve access for Hispanic, Black and Asian community members who studies show have disproportionate challenges in accessing mental health services and providers
- Foster advocacy through collaborative projects such as Beyond the Shop and raise awareness about City of Tempe services, including low-cost counseling services, 24/7 mental health crisis response and school-based student support services.
