 AlamedaPicture of Alameda Drive

This project transformed a wide street into a walkable, bikeable street with landscaping, sidewalk improvements, enhanced street crossings, traffic calming, and enhanced bike lanes.

Located between Rural Road and 48th Street, additional improvements included new traffic signals and several ADA sidewalk improvements. On-street parking and car access was maintained.

The project links directly to Phoenix’s bike lanes on Roeser Road, and also directly to the bicycle/pedestrian bridge over the I-10 at Alameda Drive that is funded as part of ADOT’s improvements to the interstate which will connect to Tempe Diablo Stadium.

Funding: Construction - $3.1 million from Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Grant funds and Tempe Transit Tax funds.
