Home MenuBicycle & Pedestrian Info
In 2023, the League of American Bicyclists re-designated Tempe a Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly Community. Because of the support from the Tempe City Council, Arizona State University, the community and non-profit organizations like the Tempe Bicycle Action Group, Tempe is one of the leading bike communities in the country with over 220 miles of bikeways.
NEWS: The Town of Guadalupe began a project to update lighting on the Highline Canal Path that will close large sections at a time. The work is being split into two phases:
- Phase 1: north of Guadalupe Road
- Phase 2: south of Guadalupe Road
During each phase, that section of the path will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists (the south portion will be open during north work and vice versa). The work is expected to be complete in December of 2024. For more information on the project, go to guadalupeaz.org.
