In August 2014, Tempe became the first municipality in Arizona to implement Smart911. Smart 911 gives the citizens of Tempe the ability to proactively provide details about their family and home that may be needed in the event of a 9-1-1 emergency. Once you create an account, your information is stored in a secure facility and only made available to 9-1-1 in the event you make an emergency call from a phone number you have tied to your safety profile.

Information you can provide in your safety profile includes:

• Household Information including names, dates of births, photographs and medical details
• Multiple Phone Numbers 
• Emergency Contacts
• Vehicles
• Animals
