About Councilmember Nikki Amberg

A dedicated and passionate advocate, Nikki Amberg has called Tempe her home for 25 years. Nikki came to Tempe through Louisiana after graduating from Louisiana State University. With an unwavering passion for public policy and non-profit work, Nikki's journey has been one of continuous dedication to community development and positive change.

Nikki’s professional endeavors have been closely intertwined with public policy for the past three decades. Her experience spans a broad spectrum, from active involvement in political campaigns to serving on nonprofit boards and spearheading fundraising initiatives. This engagement has granted her a comprehensive understanding of how effective governance and community initiatives can drive transformative progress. Nikki's roots in Tempe run deep. Nikki has been an integral part of Tempe's fabric for a quarter-century. Her journey began with her involvement on the Tempe Community Council Board, where she gained firsthand insight into the needs, aspirations, and concerns of the city’s diverse population.

Most recently, after dedicating a year of her career to working within the administration of Tempe, Nikki realized that the most impactful way to bring about substantial change was to step into the forefront of decision-making. Her 25-year immersion in Tempe's community, combined with her extensive public policy and non-profit work background, positions her as a councilmember that will make decisions informed by its history and aspirations. Nikki Amberg combines proven experience with a deep-rooted understanding of the city's opportunity for continued growth. With a passion for public policy and a commitment to meaningful change, Nikki stands ready to lead Tempe into a future marked by progress, inclusivity, and prosperity.
