City of Tempe Certified Autism Center

The City of Tempe recently earned Certified Autism Center (CAC) designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). Through this process, more than 900 employees have completed the IBCCES training and implemented innovative ways to better serve those with autism or sensory-sensitive individuals and their families in our city.

During this certification, IBCCES conducted reviews of several of our parks and buildings to help provide recommendations for how the City of Tempe can better serve and accommodate the needs of our visitors and community members.

Sensory guides were created for each location through the IBCCES review process and are listed below.

Coming soon! Locations to be reviewed and audited by IBCCES in 2024:

  • Tempe Center for the Arts
  • Clark Park Community Center
  • Escalante Community Center
  • Tempe City Council Chambers
  • Ken McDonald Golf Course
