Final official election results for Proposition 402, which amends the City of Tempe's Charter to declare Tempe's 300-acre portion of Papago Park as a preserve:

18, 576 - YES       ( 87.63 %)           2,622 - NO           (12.37 %)

The Charter Amendment (Article XI. Preserves) defines the Papago Park Preserve and its permitted uses, including cultural, educational and recreational opportunities primarily designed to heighten appreciation and enjoyment of the natural Arizona environment.  An Amendment to the Tempe City Code, relating to preserves, updates preserve rules and regulations, including proper use, permits, and civil and criminal penalties.
