Thank you to everyone that provided input during outreach on improvements to Optimist Park. The Option B layout has been chosen to move forward to design. You can view the full public input summaries under the documents section. 

The park improvements include new playground equipment and picnic ramadas, full rubberized surfacing for the play area, accessible walkways, a landscape buffer, and trees.

          

          

 

Additionally, the public outreach phase has officially ended and the construction for Optimist Park is anticipated to be funded in Fiscal Year 2024/2025.

The improvements are funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years . Additional modifications or enhancements to other park amenities are not included in the budgeted amount.
