The playground is now open at Palmer Park!

Background: 

Following a public process, a final design for improvements to Palmer Park was selected in March 2017 that includes a fully renovated play area. Since then, additional funding has become available to add new amenities to city parks.  Thanks to resident input, a notched CMU block covered ramada will be constructed to the northwest of the playground

The improvements will be funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next few years.

The ramada is funded as part of the Recreational value Capital Improvements Project (CIP) budget, which helps to ensure amenity equity within the park system.
