Mitchell Park playground and ramadas are now open!

 
Construction at Mitchell Park began in September 2022 and was completed March 2023.

In addition to the complete renovation of the playground and new ramada, improvements include artist designed rubber surfacing, new lighting in the playground area, 21 new trees, accessible walkways, and updated sports lighting and drinking fountains. 

The improvements were funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years.
