On March 2, 2023 City Council voted to approve a new name for the park: Michelle Brooks-Totress Park. The new name will take effect on July 1, 2023. Learn more at tempe.gov/renaming. 

The playground and ramada are now open!

Construction began in October 2022 and was completed February 2023.

In addition to the complete renovation of the playground and new ramada, improvements include artist designed rubber surfacing, new lighting in the playground area, new trees, and accessible walkways.

The improvements were funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years.
