On March 2, 2023 City Council voted to approve a new name for the park: Mary and Moses Green Park. The new name will took effect on July 1, 2023. Learn more at tempe.gov/renaming.
Hanger Park improvements include new lighting on the basketball court and soccer field, accessible sidewalks and field seating, sidewalk repair, and drainage improvements.
Mary and Moses Green Park improvements include accessible walkways, a new drinking fountain, landscape improvements, drainage improvements, new lighting on the basketball court and soccer field and new trees have all been installed.
The ramadas were completed in December.
A meeting was held March 2, 2019 in Mary and Moses Green Park to view plans, select the size, location, type, and finish for the new ramada(s), and give input on possible additional amenities for the future as well as park hours. Results of the outreach are posted under "Documents."
The improvements will be funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next few years.
