In March 2022, the Tempe City Council unanimously authorized staff to begin negotiating with two firms on a potential land lease and capital improvements for Rolling Hills and Ken McDonald Golf Courses. This authorization came after a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Grass Clippings, Inc. was authorized to begin negotiations for Rolling Hills while CourseCo was authorized to begin negotiations for management of Ken McDonald and Rolling Hills golf courses. The courses are not being sold.

On March 2, City Council voted to approve the lease and development agreement with Grass Clippings for Rolling Hills Golf Course. On May 18, City Council voted to approve the lease agreement with CourseCo for Ken McDonald Golf Course. Both firms will begin management of the courses starting July 1.

Updates throughout the process will be posted on this webpage.
