All enrolled participants in the Housing Choice Voucher Program - also known as Section 8 - must take part in a program briefing as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, all in-person briefings have been suspended. Instead, new enrolled participants must watch the City of Tempe’s HCV briefing video.

Note: An individual or family must be determined eligible to be accepted into the HCV Program. Watching this video does not qualify a household for assistance.

Who must watch this video?

How do I verify that I participated?

New enrolled applicants must:

Set aside approximately 30 minutes for this briefing
Watch the briefing video in its entirety
Be prepared to answer three questions via email at the end of the video to verify participation
Email answers to: housing@tempe.gov
Verification of participation is required for voucher issuance

The HCV briefing video is designed to answer common questions from program participants. Additional questions should be directed to the assigned housing specialist.
