Payment Standard

• is established by the City of Tempe Housing Services
• is based on the cost of housing and utilities for Tempe; and
• depends on the family composition and the bedroom size of the unit. For example, the payment standard is higher for families requiring 3-bedroom units than families requiring 1-bedroom units.

Changes in Income and Family Size

All changes must be reported within 10 days from the effective date of change. Forms are available in the Housing Services office.

Moving to Another City

The holder of the Housing Choice Voucher is able to move to another Public Housing Authority jurisdiction anywhere in the country.
