ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A separate application must be completed for each child 
  • Children must be 3 or 4 years old by July 24, 2024 to start school at the beginning of the school year, or before August 31, 2024 to start school once they turn 3 years old.
  • To receive financial assistance, the family must complete an application for DES childcare assistance.
  • Parent/Guardian must provide transportation to and from Tempe PRE locations.
  • Tempe PRE is a 5 day/week, 7 hour/day program. Full time attendance is required. Partial day options are not available.
  • Classroom space is limited. 
  • A lottery will be conducted to select from submitted applications. Applications will continue to be accepted until all seats are filled.  
  • Entry into the selection/enrollment process is done through the Tempe PRE application
  • Families have the ability to indicate preferred school locations based on availability 
  • Official documents will be required at registration if your child is selected
  • Applications for free or half tuition will be part of a lottery. The city will randomly select applications for processing beginning March11; new applications will be pulled for processing every month.
  • Applications for full tuition are processed as they come into the city.

 

Tempe offers full-tuition, half-tuition and free options depending on eligibility. Options include:

 

  • Full tuition of $750 per month ($770 with extended care): All families who live in Tempe or surrounding cities.
  • Half tuition of $375 per month ($385 with extended care): Tempe families with an income between 200 to 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
  • Free tuition: Tempe families with an income at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
