           b. Exterior painted surfaces with loose, cracked, scaling, chipping or peeling paint, visible from a public area, in such amounts as to present a deteriorated appearance

A common example:

A common violation for this code is a property with paint chipping on the outside surfaces of the building to the point where the materials underneath are exposed. The violation in this scenario is paint visibly peeling or chipping.
