Investing in your water - more to come
Tempe's Water Utilities Division has implemented a systematic approach to replacing the water mains by evaluating the age, material and break history. The results of the evaluation are used to prioritize areas and determine a replacement schedule. The city plans to combine waterline replacement areas to include up to 10 miles of pipe per project to increase efficiency and reduce overall replacement costs. The North Tempe Waterline Replacement Project includes approximately 4.6 miles of 8 and 12-inch waterline replacements.
