For the past 30 years, Keith Burke has been a noteworthy leader in the City of Tempe. Prior to his appointment as Deputy City Manager representing Quality of Life, Keith served as the Community Services Department Director to oversee and lead management teams within Parks and Recreation, Arts and Culture, and the Library Services Division. Throughout his career, Keith has been credited with numerous contributions to the Tempe organization, and is widely recognized and celebrated for being a great leader, mentor, and ambassador for City services. Keith spent 25 years working directly with Tempe’s community centers, offering neighborhood and citywide multi-generational programs ranging from early childhood preschool classes, to senior services. Within the community center setting, Keith promoted from a coordinator to a supervisor, and to a manager of multiple sites within the City. In addition, he has served on multiple Tempe school district advisory boards, participated in the Tempe Leadership Program, and served as President of the Tempe Supervisors Association for 10 years, helping City leadership and its workforce to come to consensus when discussing pay equity, employee benefits, and organizational improvements.
Keith was raised in Southern California; he holds a B.S. in Sociology from Arizona State University. Keith later earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Western International University.
