Past, Present, Future: Envisioning Public Art in Tempe

Tempe Public Art invites you to an event where history, public art and storytelling collide! Participants will be able to tour the historic Eisendrath House, learn about public art and share their thoughts on the future of public art with Designing Local, a team working with Tempe Public Art on the creation of a Public Art Plan for the future.

Some people know the Eisendrath House as a historic property that was once occupied by Rose Eisendrath, and others know it as the “Pink house” or even as “Jeff’s place.” Join us for an engaging event that explores a little-known era of the home’s history and its connection to contemporary art in the Valley. Artist Jeff Zischke lived and worked in the Eisendrath House during the 1980s, when the adobe building was part studio, part home and part avant-garde art space. Zischke will share stories, images and insider knowledge of the house from those days while also bringing the audience into his artistic practice and life as an artist for the past several decades.

This event is free and open to all! Light refreshments will be served, please indicate interest in attending here for planning purposes.
