Escalante- Older Adult Technology Resource Fair

The Older Adult Technology Resource Fair will be held at Escalante Multigenerational Center on October 3, 2023 from 9:30am-1:30pm in the Bravo Room.

Older adults 50+, who live in Tempe or Guadalupe and do not have access to a computer or home internet, are invited to join us for our Older Adult Technology Resource Fair.  Qualifying older adults will be loaned a Chromebook laptop and internet hotspot at no cost to the participant.

Participants must meet the following requirements to qualify:

    • Must be at least 50 years old.
    • Do not have access to a computer at home.
    • Currently reside in Tempe or Guadalupe with proof of residency such as a valid state-issued ID, voter registration card, or mail/utility bill postmarked within the last 30 days.
    • Able to provide a government issued photo ID such as a valid driver's license, state-issued ID, military ID, or valid passport.
    • Participate in low-income programs such as SNAP or Section 8, or have a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Leve.  Proof of program participation or income, such as 2023 SNAP awards letter, federal or state tax return, social security statements or W-2.  Click here to view 2023 income limits.

Applicants MUST bring their proof of eligibility documents to the Resource Fair.  Upon document approval, older adults will receive their loaned device and be trained on how to use it.

Additional resources will also be available.

The Connect Tempe Program is designed to support digital equity for low-income older adults through access to free services such as loanable laptops and internet hotspots, hands-on technology classes, and 1:1 technology assistance.
