Wednesday, November 8, at 11:30 a.m.
African Americans of Tempe have made important contributions to the development of their community of Tempe. Their stories are riveting, and their family histories are unique and multi-dimensional. Dr. Anthony Pratcher II is a Lecturer and Honors Faculty Fellow in Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. His use of oral interviews, census data, and Arizona’s archival collections have led to important publications that reveal how urban policies influence community formations like Tempe. Stop by Tempe History Museum for this free talk presented by Tempe History Society with generous support from Friendship Village.
Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Can't attend? Catch the event live-streamed at www.facebook.com/TempeHistory.
