The Transportation & Sustainability Department ensures a safe and sustainable community for those who live, work and visit Tempe.
The Transportation Division provides safe, sustainable transportation options for Tempe's residents and the community through the design and maintenance of an integrated transportation system that enables the movement of people and goods. This includes Traffic Engineering, Transportation Maintenance, Transportation Planning and Transit Operations/Facility Maintenance. The division also ensures compliance with federal grants, monitors CIP project budgets and oversees the half-cent transit tax.
