Some City Boards, Commissions, or Committees are meeting in-person, with a virtual meeting option remaining available via Cisco Webex or Microsoft Teams.  Please visit the Calendar below for information about upcoming meetings, including dates, times, locations, and agendas.

The posting of the Agendas and Minutes for the Development Review Commission Study Sessions and Regular Meetings, beginning with the meetings on August 27, 2024, has transitioned to the City of Tempe Agenda Online website.

 

Public Meeting Notices

In accordance with State law, public meeting notices for all meetings of the Tempe City Council and all City of Tempe boards and commissions will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. 

The City of Tempe’s official posting board is located at the Council Chambers level of the Harry E. Mitchell Government Complex, 31 E. Fifth Street, Tempe. Public Meeting Notices are posted on electronic display panels located near the main entry of the Council Chambers, and note the availability of individual meeting agendas online. The electronic posting board is accessible to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Public meeting notices are also posted on the City’s website. Results of any legal actions taken at the City Council meetings will be posted on the City’s website within 3 working days of the meeting.

Street and Park Renaming Ad Hoc Committee

Several Tempe parks and streets are being renamed at the City Council’s direction after historical research determined that their namesakes were documented members of a local Ku Klux Klan chapter in the 1920s.

The Parks and Streets Renaming Ad Hoc Committee members have been appointed and will hold their first meeting Sept. 30. The group was appointed by and will work alongside City Manager Andrew Ching.

The committee’s meetings will be open to the public and available both online via WebEx (login details forthcoming) and in-person at the Don Cassano Room of the Tempe Transportation Center, 200 E. Fifth St. Please note, if needed, the December 7th meeting will be held at the Tempe History Museum Community Room, 809 E Southern Ave. The meeting schedule is:

  • Friday, Sept. 30, from 1-3 p.m. (Don Cassano Room, Tempe Transportation Center)– This meeting will include an overview of the issue, the research, the committee’s duties and the public input process.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 4-6 p.m. (Don Cassano Room, Tempe Transportation Center)– This meeting will include a first review of name suggestions from the community and a narrowing of the list.
  • Meeting Cancelled Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 4-6 p.m. (Don Cassano Room, Tempe Transportation Center)
  • Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4-6 p.m. (Community Room, Tempe History Museum)- This meeting will include reviewing recommended names by the community and discussion of recommendations for providing notice and compensation to affected residents and businesses. 
  • Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. (VIRTUAL MEETING VIA WebEx)- This meeting will be held to finalize the recommendations of the committee.
