Tempe Police Request Community’s Help to Identify Homicide Suspect

The Tempe Police Department is currently investigating the murder of JOANN ROTZ (37 years old), whose body was located on 11/21/12, in the area of 1100 E. Lemon St. Tempe, AZ. The Tempe Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in obtaining information on her death (see attached photo).

On 11/21/12 at approximately 12:54 PM, police responded to the area of 1100 E. Lemon St. Tempe, AZ where it was reported that a female was found deceased. Upon arrival police officers located JOANN ROTZ in a dirt lot where she was pronounced deceased. Through the work of police investigators and the Medical Examiner’s Office, it was determined that ROTZ died from trauma to her upper body. ROTZ was known to have frequented the area with no known place of permanent residence. She was often seen in the company of transient individuals.

Few details regarding her death are known at this time and the Tempe Police Department is looking for anyone who may have seen Ms. ROTZ the days leading up to November 21st, or that may have any other information related to her death.

You can go to http://www.silentwitness.org/ to submit a tip anonymously. A $1,000 reward is offered through partnership with Silent Witness for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect. Thank you.
