Baseball Legends compete in Tempe
Tempe Diablo Stadium to host Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown

TEMPE, Ariz. – Watch Cooperstown come to life at the Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown on Sunday, Oct. 28 at Tempe Diablo Stadium, 2200 W. Alameda Dr.

Tempe Diablo Stadium will host Vintage 9 Foundation, the MSBL and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association as they present this 1880’s style game featuring former MLB greats. Former Major Leaguers will be back on the diamond in a game using all of the equipment, uniforms, rules and traditions of 1887.

Notable participants will include Reggie Jackson, Fergie Jenkins, Pete LaCock, Brian Hunter, Dmitri Young, Chili Davis, Dontrelle Willis, Royce Clayton, Randy Johnson and more.*

The day’s festivities will being will a Legends for Youth baseball clinic from 3-5 p.m., where participating children can get on the field with the Major Leaguers. Free registration will start at 2:30 p.m.

An autograph and meet-and-greet session with the players will be held at 5 p.m. while the legends take live pre-game batting practice. Pre-game ceremonies and presentations, including a celebrity National Anthem will follow at 6:30 p.m. and the first pitch will be at 7 p.m.

Admission for the event is free. All proceeds will benefit Childhelp USA, the MLBPAA Foundation and the Vintage 9 Foundation.
