Welcome to the Tempe Police Department Investigation’s Division
The Investigation Division is comprised of employees assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Special Investigations Bureau. Each Bureau has a unique and separate function within the Tempe Police Department. Incidents which require follow up investigation are forwarded to the appropriate Investigations Bureau. Certain investigations may be forwarded to our Crime Prevention Unit, Gang Squad, Narcotics Unit, or other specialty unit. Generally, the remaining investigations are assigned to one of the following:

Juvenile Detail:
- Crimes occuring at Middle Schools, Junior Highs & High Schools
- Crimes involving a juvenile attending a Tempe School
Night Squad:
- Robbery
- Aggravate Assaults
- Other investigations occurring after hours
