Tempe-based roots-rockers The Pistoleors join Arizona songwriters Pat Beary, Shawn Johnson and Peter Roberts for a night of original music with Host Walt Richardson.
The Pistoleros are comprised of front man Lawrence Zubia, his guitarist brother Mark, guitarist Thomas Laufenberg, bassist Scott Andrews and drummer Gary Smith. The Zubias are sons of a mariachi musician and first emerged as members of the Chimeras, which included the ill-fated future Gin Blossoms guitarist Douglas Hopkins. Hopkins' "My Guardian Angel" later surfaced on The Pistoleros' 1997 debut album Hang on to Nothing, which featured songwriting contributions from theJayhawks' Gary Louris, the Smithereens' Pat DiNizio and Radney Foster.
