Getting a library card:
Tempe Public Library cards are available free of charge to residents of Tempe and all other parts of Maricopa County. Persons who live outside of Maricopa County can obtain a card for a fee of $30 per year. To obtain a card, you will need to bring a current photo I.D. and verification of your current residential street address to the main desk at the library.
Acceptable forms of address verification include a current utility bill, a pay stub, a copy of your lease, a voter registration card, or an envelope mailed to you which has been postmarked within the past thirty days.
Replacing a lost or stolen library card:
Library users who have lost their Tempe Public Library card may apply for a replacement card by showing valid identification and paying a $2.00 replacement charge. Lost cards must be reported to the Library immediately. If a card which was reported lost is found, it should be destroyed or returned to the library for disposal.

Library Card Designs and Artists
Tempe Public Library currently features six library card designs which were commissioned by Tempe Public Art. Six local artists provided six different card designs and painted a utility box to match within the Mill Avenue District. These boxes are located on Mill Avenue between Rio Salado and 7th Street.
