Buckling up the right way on every ride is the single most important thing you can do to stay safe in the car. But finding the safest way for each member of the family to ride can be confusing. Tempe Fire Department personnel are available Monday through Friday to inspect your car seat to make sure it's properly installed. To make an appointment to get a car seat checked for free, contact Monique Bonfiglio or call (480) 858-7230. Watch a video on how to install car seats.

Booster Seat Law: Starting Aug. 2, 2012, a new Arizona law requires that children ages 5 to 7 (younger than 8) and four feet, nine inches or shorter must be in a booster seat when riding in a vehicle.
