Mission

To promote a fair, equitable and accessible environment for the City of Tempe community and workforce. To educate through programming and celebrate through events Tempe's rich diversity.

The Diversity Office is responsible for four main functions:

Serving as a resource and a safe haven for employees on diversity initiatives and employee relations; facilitating the consistency of Tempe's workforce policies and practices.
Coordinating community and workforce special programs and events.
Promoting an accessible environment for the city and community, and providing assistance with access and ADA issues.
Overseeing the functions of the city-wide Inclusion Training.

The Diversity Department is very committed to providing the best services possible to City of Tempe employees and the Tempe community. From our workforce initiatives to our community programs and services, the Diversity Department strives to promote fairness and inclusion.
