We do not have the ability to handle requests for service via email or text message at this time.
The Tempe Police Dispatchers serve as a link between our City of Tempe Residents & Visitors, and the Police Officers who serve the community.
We work a variety of shifts covering 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
There are 4 classifications within the Communications Bureau:
- 911 Operator: Answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls.
- Dispatcher: Using a computer aided dispatch system they manage officers, and civilian police staff while monitoring radio traffic.
- Shift Supervisor: Liaison with customers and support personnel, shift scheduling, direct oversight of daily operations
- Bureau Manager: Oversees strategic and tactical plans of the dispatch center, acts as a bureau liaison to the police department, fire, and outside entities, manages staffing, and reviews personnel issues.
