The City of Tempe is looking for school groups (junior high, high school, and college), service organizations, and corporate groups, as well as individuals, interested in one-time service projects. Please see "One-time Activities" for a current list of upcoming events and activities.
Youth Hoops Clinic--OPEN
Saturdays, November 8 & 15, 8:30a-11:30a at Kiwanis Recreation Center
Volunteers needed to assist basketball coaches with fundamental developmental drills (dribbling, rebounding, passing, shooting, defense, etc)
Tempe Sound Exhibit Opening at the History Museum, November 14, 4:15p-8:30p --OPEN
The Museum will be opening its next new exhibit, "Tempe Sound". The exhibit is all about the history of music
in Tempe and promises to be a huge opening. Volunteers will assist with crowd control, trash pick-up, door greeters
and set-up and tear-down.
Holiday Tea --OPEN
Friday, December 5, noon-5p at the Cahill Senior Center
Volunteers are needed to help serve lunch to a group of ladies from the neighborhood. If you have a food-handler's
card that would be nice, but not necessary. Volunteer at this event and you are sure to help make someone's day
Free Arts Friday/Family Fun Factory --OPEN
Friday, December 5, 5:30p-9p at the Vihel Activity Bldg.
Volunteers are needed to help run craft and other activities, as well as serve refreshments at this fun, free activity for preschool-age children.
Winter Wonderland at Escalante Center, December 12, 2-4:30p or 4:30-6p (40 volunteers)--filled
Volunteers needed to assist with wintry, fun activities for youth. Set-up and clean-up included.
Swimming with Santa--OPEN
Saturday and Sunday, December 27 & 28, 12:30p-3p OR 3p-6p at the Kiwanis Recreation Center
Event volunteers will assist the event coordinators at the check-in table, refreshment table, raffle prize winners and
announcements, photo booth and help maintain order when the children are talking and interacting with Mr. and
YEAR-ROUND ON-GOING GROUP PROJECTS
Project such as the following can generally be scheduled anytime during the year if there is a current need. Call the listed contact person to make arrangements.
Parks and Trail Maintenance (10 to 30 volunteers) (When available)
Help pick up trash; plant trees; remove non-native plants; clean/paint parks equipment; repair, stabilize and build new trails in Tempe parks and preserve areas, as needed (no projects during June/July/August)

Library Shelf and Book Cleaning (up to 15 volunteers)
Dust and wash library shelves and books while maintaining books in proper order.
