platFORM

Platform logoThe public art programs from Tempe, Scottsdale, and Chandler have joined forces in platFORM, an initiative to offer opportunities for student artists to create sculptures for temporary placement in public places. platFORM aims to provide experiences and education to students, from the application process through installation, in hopes of preparing these emerging artists  for future public art opportunities and to gain wider exposure for their artwork.

Students currently enrolled in an arts program at any university, community, or private college within the state of Arizona are eligible to apply. The Request for Proposals is typically released during the spring semester, with artworks installed in September for the duration of one year.

Tempe's platFORM sculptures are currently located on the grounds of Hayden Flour Mill, at the north-east corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway.

Currently Installed: Cycle 2
