Personal Letter from Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman		PF Chang's Rock-N-Roll Marathon
	All mayors run for office. Not many run marathons.

Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman not only runs the P.F. Chang Rock ‘n‘ Roll Arizona Half Marathon, he helps raise money for many Tempe charities while doing so. In 2008, Mayor Hallman raised more than $180,000 – more money than any one person has ever raised for Rock - n - Roll Marathon. Combined with the monies raised by his fellow athletes in the Team Tempe Mayor’s Run, more than $220,000 benefitted those in need.

The P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon runs through Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe, with the finish line at Sun Devil Stadium. Great bands play at each milemarker, and thousands of spectators and pep squads line the course to give athletes support. It’s a fun event that brings 35,000 athletes to Tempe annually.

Running this race is a family event for the Hallmans, as wife Susan and son Louis also earned their half marathon medals last year.

You can be a part of the Mayor's Run for Youth, Education and Social Services as an athlete, a sponsor, or even as an armchair supporter.

Runners on Team Tempe not only gain the respect of the community, they also earn money for charities, get free training, meet new friends and take home some pretty great swag. Sponsors enjoy high visibility from media and fans for more than 13 course miles and on a diversity of marketing materials. Supporters get the thanks of an entire community
