Ballet Un
der the Stars
7 p.m., Sept. 25, 2009
Tempe Center for the Arts Amphitheater
700 W. Rio Salado Parkway

The state’s resident professional ballet company, Ballet Arizona, annually performs an evening of dance lakeside,
under the stars.

Spend a relaxing evening under the gorgeous Arizona sky as Ballet Arizona continues its annual season opening tradition with Ballet Under the Stars.

Ballet Under the Stars performances showcase a combination of classical and contemporary works in a casual setting and often feature the debut performance of works created as part
of the children's "Class Act" program.

Ballet Under the Stars allows Arizona communities to enjoy dance in a unique outdoor setting complete with a stage, lighting, costumes and beautiful Arizona weather. The program ranges from the classical to the contemporary and is fun for the whole family.

Audiences bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a family-friendly performance of classical and contemporary dance under the direction of Ib Anderson.

In addition to the regular programming, children from nearby grade schools have the unique opportunity to create and choreograph a new dance work with the guidance of a team of Ballet Arizona dancers. Ballet Arizona dancers will spend several days working with the students to produce dances the children present at Ballet Under the Stars
