Waves continue rolling this fall at Kiwanis

TEMPE, Ariz. – There won’t be any shortage of fun this fall with the continuation of waves at the Kiwanis Recreation Center. Weekend Waves run from 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of August, as well as on Labor Day, September 1. Waves will change to Saturdays only in September from 1-5 p.m. Wave Pool admission is $5 for ages 2-12 and $7 for ages 13 and older.
With most schools back in session, the hours of operation have changed for Tempe’s other aquatic facilities including the Escalante Pool, Splash Playground at Tempe Beach Park and three neighborhood spray pads.
Starting this Saturday, August 9, the Escalante Pool be open on weekends only through Labor Day. Admission is 75 cents for youth ages 6-17 and $1.25 for adults ages 18 and older. Children ages 5 yrs. and younger are free.
Splash Playground at Tempe Beach Park
Beginning August 9, Splash Playground will operate on weekends only through Labor Day from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Admission is free. Lifeguards are on duty.
Neighborhood Spray Pads
Spray pads will continue to operate daily from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. through Saturday, October 18. Admission is free. Tempe offers three neighborhood spray pads at Esquer, Hudson and Jaycee parks, perfect for families and young children to run around and cool off. Children should always be watched by an adult while enjoying a neighborhood spray pad as no lifeguards or attendants are on duty.
